atholl palace

Brief

Atholl Palace Hotel, approached us to support them in developing outreach activities that would help  share the rich history of their Victorian hotel with new and varied audiences.

In particular the client was enthusiastic that visitors would be able to use innovative digital technologies in the Hotel's Museum and Archive to learn about it's early history as a Victorian Spa, and it's important role during World War II.

Product

We used Minecraft to recreate Atholl Palace as it was during it's hay day in the Victorian era. Each room is decorated with wallpaper, carpet and drapes in authentic period patters and textiles.  The walls of the library are adorned with digital replicas of the paintings that are still found in the hotel to this day.

Visitors to the hotel can use Minecraft to explore the Palace's history including being a student in a World War Two classroom and as a guest at a Victorian Wedding.
